Your next visit to Auckland can now include an extra sunny highlight.
Sunergise has partnered with Hind Management’s Sudima Hotels and implemented a 133kWp rooftop solar power system at Sudima Auckland Airport to help achieve their sustainability goals. As the country’s first carboNZero accredited hotel, it exemplifies the best in sustainable architecture and systems, along with world-class features, facilities and services.
Hind Management Executive Director – for Sustainability and Environment, Kanika Jhunjhnuwala, says a Bank of New Zealand NZ$100 million sustainability-linked loan allowed for further investment towards ESG growth opportunities.
"We have made significant headway into our KPIs for 2022, including working with Sunergise towards installing solar panels at our Sudima Auckland Airport hotel"
“The proposed system would potentially offset over 40% of the daytime load at this specific hotel. We hope others in the sector can see what is possible and be willing to collaborate to share knowledge and initiatives IP for the greater good.
“I am motivated to use this opportunity to advocate for change within our industry. On our journey, I have worked with many of our suppliers to facilitate changes in our supply chain to meet the strict criteria across our hotels. I’m also calling on my peers to meet and work with us, as together we can achieve much more.”
The solar power implementation increases the total installed by Sunergise throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands to over 20MW.
“Sunergise is delighted to be working with Hind Management as they lead the way for the tourism sector in New Zealand,” said Sunergise co founder Paul Makumbe.
“The Sudima implementation helps New Zealand present itself well to the new generation of international traveller and shows what’s possible today for the wider business community.”
