Project Overview
Sunergise viewed the opportunity to provide solar power to Parliament House in Wellington as a chance to demonstrate the benefits of solar energy to New Zealand’s leaders and the wider community. Close collaboration with Parliamentary consultants and the Wellington City Council ensured that the 204-kW Solar Energy System at Parliament House met the requirements of Heritage and Parliamentary Services.
The system was supplied and installed at Parliament House to reduce load on the main switchboard, lower carbon emissions, and promote renewable energy. This involved designing, certifying, and ensuring safety for a quality installation. The equipment selection considered the ethical material sourcing, manufacturing processes, warranties, and visual impact on the heritage building. REC TwinPeak black solar panels were chosen for their high output and low-reflective, black-edged appearance to seamlessly integrate with the roof’s aesthetics.
Throughout the installation, Sunergise ensured minimal disruption to Parliament House’s daily activities, while upholding the highest security standards on-site, drawing from their experience in critical infrastructure projects. Sunergise’s comprehensive approach to the Parliament House solar project highlighted their dedication to showcasing solar energy while navigating the complexities of historical building preservation. The project demonstrated their commitment to sustainability and professionalism in delivering renewable energy solutions.
